We have been fabricating steel since 1974 from our workshop at Tomago, and our mining products are supplied to underground mines in NSW, Queensland and Western Australia.
Mining fabrication
We design and fabricate custom ventilation control devices for underground mines, and our main focus is underground coal. We have supplied multiple underground coal mine sites with ventilation control components and heavy duty rated overcast assemblies. Our mining range includes:
- Airlocks, unrated, 2PSI or 5PSI rated. The 5PSI airlock is fully built in our workshop, so it can be taken underground and bolted into position with no assembly.
- Overcasts: portal frame, unrated purlin and iron, rated sloped-sided and rated splayed
- Regulators with fully adjustable louvres that can be locked in position, plus machine doors, Bobcat doors and man access doors
- Coffin seals to suit any size conveyor belt, with wear parts that can be replaced on site
- Ancillary devices such as depth gauges, U-tubes, S-traps, gas sample pipes and stopping poles
Each product is designed to be easy to transport to the mine, take underground and install. All rated designs are certified by GHF's engineer, and information sheets for most products can be downloaded from each product page. See mining fabrication.
Industrial and site steelwork
We make stairs, ramps and ladders for industrial, mining and manufacturing sites, either as standalone products or to suit our overcast structures. Stairs can have non-slip treads and can be powder coated in a range of colours to improve safety on site, and ramps come with handrails on both sides, drop-in grates and fully adjustable legs. We also fabricate inspection platforms, mezzanines, equipment lockers, hook bins, boom gates and industrial gating, and components for wastewater pumping stations. See custom metal fabrication.
Civil and infrastructure work
For civil contractors, we fabricate rails, barriers and bollards, sign frames, custom gate systems and stormwater drainage. Civil clients have included Daracon, KCE, Fulton Hogan, Woodbury Civil and Robson Civil. We have also made storage components for the Royal Australian Air Force.
